A yellow "!" bang (also called red x or ?)

Here's the thing.
The device manager will tell you about hardware problems on your computer.

To get to the device manager (each operating system differs)

start | control panel | system | hardware | device manager

find item with yellow "?" or red "X" (not working)


best way to resolve non-working hardware (such as infared item)?

add/remove and reinstall.
