Want to know how many times I've received calls that the computer will
not boot up? Sure, it could mean bad memory (ram). Or a bad motherboard.
Or even a power supply is shot. But the majority of times, it's the hard
drive. And when it goes, your data is usually not recoverable.
If you get a black screen with white lettering, that usually means you
are in big trouble. On removing the hard drive, if it spins, I usually
can still recover your data. But the odds are against it.

By now, you've received an invite from "computervirusremoval"
to join in Facebook (I prefer Flock - it joins a lot of social
networking tools). This is an experiment. It should be interesting
to start posting computer solutions to general questions.

Why wait till your computer is infected or worse, dead.
Why not call and schedule an hour "check up". With luck, all you
need is a quick clean up. Your computer will be faster.
And I'll remove programs you just don't need - or stop them from
running when you start your computer. It's also a good time to make
sure your anti-virus programs are running and up to date.
